Each cabin comes with a private deck area and is locally designed, with room for two guests. They’re aimed at couples, or solo getaways and interiors are beautifully appointed — kitted out in earthy tones, with marine ply walls, luxe linens, coffee machines, board games and cosy robes.
The cabin collection sits clustered amid landscaped gardens on a second-floor rooftop, atop QT’s Ballroom. This formerly underused space has been overhauled QT-style with tropical plantings, artificial grass lawns and a fun black and white colour scheme.
The new set-up targets guests seeking an escape that’s a little different to the usual back-to-nature cabin vibe, or to QT Hotel’s regular offering. It’s Surfers Paradise, but not as you know it.
“We think it will appeal to guests of all ages who are looking for an experience,” says general manager of QT Gold Coast, Dominic Rose. “You can come and unplug, or come and take advantage of all the Gold Coast has to offer.”
Cabin guests start the evening with a complimentary aperitivo and can wake up to Saturday open-air sunrise yoga sessions on the lawn of The Landing, which overlooks the ocean. The Landing can also be booked for weddings.
An adjacent undercover area called The Terrace has a wood-fired oven, smoker and an Argentine grill. It can be booked for customised feasts and cooking classes.
A designated Curator of Sunshine is on hand to organise bespoke experiences, which could range from feasts to pottery classes with Tugun’s Harvest Clay (the cabin’s ceramic supplier) to reef dives, helicopter flights and more.
All the usual QT facilities, such as the ground-floor pool, bars, inhouse Japanese restaurant Yamagen and more, are at cabin guests’ disposal. But only qtQT cabin guests can access the second-floor rooftop sanctuary.
The cosy dwellings are open for bookings from 1 December 2022 and can be either booked singly, or as a group of six for exclusive use. QT Gold Coast’s 297 rooms have also been refurbished.
qtQT cabins are available from 1 December 2022.
