The Bestest Foundation’s Gala triumphant return in Sydney

The Bestest Foundation’s Bestest Gala black tie dinner, held annually for 10 years, was back this year and grand as ever after a two year hiatus. Adding a luxe touch to the charity-driven evening, the Gala was held at Bennelong Point’s Royal Botanic Gardens, where guests enjoyed al fresco dining with views of the Opera House following a break in Sydney’s La Niña weather.

Led by “bestest chef” and Bestest Foundation board member Guillaume Brahimi, 25 top chefs from across Australia were assigned to cook for one table each. The event boasted an impressive line-up; from Rockpool Dining Group’s Neil Perry and Mr Wong and Ms G’s Dan Hong, to the likes of high-profile chefs Manu Fieldel and George Calombaris.

Tables of 10 went for $10,000, with all proceeds going to the Bestest Foundation and its primary mission to provide essential support to neglected and sick children and their families. Many any of these families may have fallen through the cracks in the system or been overlooked as Australia begins to recover from Covid-19’s effects. This includes providing a variety of medical equipment and care that these children may require, as well as promoting access to education and providing urgent assistance to at-risk children.

Missed out on a ticket? You can still help the cause – and win an indulgent prize at the same time. This year, the Bestest Foundation is holding a raffle for “A Year of Indulgence” that anyone can enter. The prize? A monthly voucher for lunch or dinner at one of 17 participating restaurants. That means, for one very lucky winner, lunch or dinner is taken care of once a month for the entire year, with a handful of vouchers still to spare. A Year of Indulgence indeed.

Raffle tickets are available on the Bestest Foundation’s website from the 12th of October until the 6th of December, with tickets starting at $50 for one and $100 for three, and all proceeds going to the Bestest Foundation.
